Cantor Liat received her cantorial ordination at the Academy for Jewish Religion, Riverdale, N.Y.
She completed her Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Midrasha l’Morey Musica in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
In Moldova, a part of the former Soviet Union, she majored in piano and voice at the State College for
Music Teachers.
Cantor Liat has served several congregations in the Northeast. She was blessed to be appointed as the
first cantor at Temple Sinai, Cinnaminson, New Jersey.
Cantor Liat’s musical expertise and ability to work with people of diverse ages and backgrounds has enabled
her to successfully organize, direct, and accompany several adult and children’s choirs.
Cantor Liat has a passion to teach children of all ages. In Israel, she was a music educator in the public
school system of Holon and Yavne and taught piano at the music conservatoire of Bat Yam.
In the USA, Cantor Liat has experience teaching Hebrew, music and Judaic subjects in various Hebrew Schools,
at the Jewish Community Center (JCC), Staten Island, NY, and at the Jewish Community Project (JCP), New York, NY.
As a cantor and Judaic educator, she has developed Shabbat and Jewish holidays programs and curriculum
for the Russian community.
